As long as amalgam sits firmly in the tooth, the exposure is low. The critical phase is drilling it out. With the right protective measures we keep the exposure as low as possible.
A protective sheet completely separates the tooth from the oral cavity — particles and shavings don't get into the mouth.
A clean-up suction is placed directly over the tooth in the mouth and captures vapours and particles. In addition, an external extraction with a mercury filter works — similar to an extractor hood.
A protective mask (gold mask) or a separate air supply prevents mercury vapour from being inhaled while breathing.
An insert (e.g. chlorella algae) in the tooth binds residual mercury before the new restoration.
After removal we restore the tooth with a body-compatible, metal-free solution — e.g. a ceramic filling or an inlay.
Whether and when an amalgam removal makes sense, we discuss individually with you — without pressure.
"What needs to come out, we remove as cleanly as possible — to protect your body."
We advise you calmly on whether and how a restoration makes sense for you.
